Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 25th, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Zigzag Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you visit www.zigzagsolutionsllc.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We publish children's books and coloring books under the pen name James Cleary. We are based in California, and the Site is hosted on Wix.

Short version: we collect very little. We do not sell books on this Site, so we never see your payment information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. Our books are for children, but this Site is written for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

1. What We Collect

Information you give us:

  • Name and email address, if you join our email list, use the contact form, or download a free printable that asks for an email;

  • Anything else you choose to send us, including comments, reviews, photos, questions, and a child's artwork sent by a parent or teacher.

Information collected automatically when you visit:

  • IP address, general location (usually city or region level), browser and device type, operating system, and language;

  • Pages you viewed, links you clicked, files you downloaded, how long you stayed, and the site or search that sent you to us;

  • Cookie and similar identifiers, as described in Section 3.

What we never collect: we do not take orders or payments on this Site, so we do not receive your credit card number, billing address, or shipping address. When you click through to Amazon or another retailer, anything you enter there goes to that retailer, not to us. We also do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, or information about health, race, religion, sexual orientation, or union membership, and we ask that you not send those to us.

2. Why We Use It

We use the information to:

  • run the Site and keep it secure;

  • send our newsletter and other messages you asked for;

  • answer your questions;

  • understand which pages, books, and printables people find useful, so we can make more of what works;

  • comply with law and enforce our Terms.

We use your information only for the purposes described here or for a purpose that is compatible with them.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our service providers use them to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. When you first visit, you can choose which categories of nonessential cookies to allow, and you can change that choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block them, parts of the Site may not work.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for what a site should do with it, and we do not respond to it. We do treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to the extent that signal reaches us.

4. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold or shared it for cross context behavioral advertising in the last twelve months. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

We share information with companies that perform services for us, and only so they can perform those services for us:

  • Wix, which hosts the Site and provides its built in traffic statistics and contact forms;

  • www.myregisteredsite.com, which sends our newsletter;

  • UserCentrics, which helps us understand Site traffic.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, subpoena, or court order, if we need to protect our rights or someone's safety, or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business or book catalog, in which case the buyer would be bound by this Policy for information collected before the sale.

5. Children

This Site is intended for parents, caregivers, teachers, and librarians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13, and the Site has no accounts, chat, comments, games, or other features aimed at children.

If a parent or teacher sends us a child's artwork or a quote from a child, we ask for a first name only, and no last name, school, or address. If we learn that a child under 13 has given us personal information without a parent's consent, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes we may have information about their child can email admin@zigzagsolutionsllc.com, and we will confirm, provide a copy, or delete it.

6. Your Choices

  • Email: unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any newsletter, or email us and we will remove you.

  • Cookies: use your browser settings [or our cookie settings link] to limit them.

  • Requests: use Section 7 or Section 8 to ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it.

7. California Residents

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the right to:

  • know what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to;

  • get a copy of that information;

  • correct information that is wrong;

  • delete information we hold about you;

  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share it);

  • limit our use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it); and

  • not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

In the last twelve months, we have collected the categories of information described in Section 1, from the sources described there, for the purposes described in Section 2, and have disclosed identifiers and internet activity information to the service providers listed in Section 4 for business purposes.

How to make a request: email admin@zigzagsolutionsllc.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line and tell us what you want. We will verify who you are, usually by asking you to confirm from the email address we have on file, and we will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with your written permission.

Shine the Light: California law lets residents ask once a year about personal information shared with third parties for those parties' own direct marketing. We do not share information that way. You may confirm this by emailing admin@zigzagsolutionsllc.com.

Retention: we keep email list information until you unsubscribe, keep messages you send us for as long as we need them to answer you and for our records, and keep website traffic statistics for 1 year. We delete or deidentify information when we no longer need it.

8. Residents of Other States

If you live in a state with its own consumer privacy law, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others, you have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. We do not engage in targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. Use the same request process in Section 7. If we deny your request and your state provides an appeal, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond within the time your state's law allows.

9. Visitors Outside the United States

The Site is operated in the United States, and information you send us is stored and processed here. Privacy laws in the United States may be different from the laws where you live. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for using your information are your consent (for marketing emails) and our legitimate interests (in keeping the Site secure, understanding traffic, and answering the messages you send us). You may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Email admin@zigzagsolutionsllc.com to exercise them.

10. Security

We use the security features built into our hosting and email platforms, including encryption of the Site in transit, and we limit access to the accounts that hold your information. No website is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that a determined third party will never gain access.

11. Links to Other Sites

The Site links to other websites, including Amazon and other retailers that sell our books. This Policy does not apply to those sites. Please read their privacy policies before giving them information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date above, and we will post a notice on the Site if the change is significant.
